Most dynasty trades are not decided by one number. They are decided by format, roster direction, asset liquidity, and the cost of turning several useful pieces into one premium player. FairPlay exists to make that context visible.

The problem with a single trade score

Trade calculators are useful because they create a shared starting point. But a total can look precise while hiding the assumptions underneath it. Two offers with the same raw value can have very different outcomes when one side receives an elite cornerstone and the other receives four replaceable assets.

I wanted a calculator that kept the speed of a simple score without pretending every point of value was interchangeable. FairPlay shows the raw market value, the package adjustment, the mix of positions and picks, and the size of the final gap so a manager can see why the result moved.

Built for one clear format

FairPlay is calibrated for dynasty Superflex leagues using Half PPR scoring. That focus matters. Quarterback scarcity is fundamentally different in Superflex, and long-term value behaves differently from redraft value. Rather than label one generic model as suitable for every league, the calculator publishes the format it is designed to support.

The rankings include exploratory display adjustments for 1QB, 2QB, PPR, and Standard views, but the trade calculator keeps its core assumptions fixed and visible.

Open data, separate model paths

The valuation model combines market context with production, opportunity, and efficiency inputs from nflverse and nflfastR. It also considers age, career window, draft capital, position scarcity, and team environment.

Veterans with enough professional evidence use the production model. Rookies, prospects, and players with limited NFL samples use a projection model instead. Missing professional statistics should not be treated as proof that a young player is unproductive.

What FairPlay does not decide

No public model knows your exact roster, league market, risk tolerance, or championship window. Injury and practice information is presented as an observation layer, not as a hidden override to player value. AI analysis adds a readable synthesis, but it does not replace or alter the deterministic calculation.

The goal is not to make the decision for you. It is to give you a faster, clearer way to challenge an offer, understand the trade-offs, and start a better league conversation.

Use the model, then apply your league.

FairPlay values are estimates for dynasty Superflex, Half PPR leagues. League settings, roster depth, and manager preferences can materially change the right decision.
